If problems occur with drugs or alcohol during the probationary driving period, a special development seminar for beginner drivers is often required
If drugs or alcohol are a problem during the probationary driving period, the driving licence authority often imposes attendance at a special development seminar, in order that the driving licence may be retained or reinstated (in accordance with §36 of the German Driving Licence Ordinance - FeV). This particular development seminar for beginner drivers based on problems with drugs or alcohol in the probationary period can only be held by specially accredited traffic psychologists – not at a driving school.
Special development seminar for beginner drivers at Nord-Kurs
Nord-Kurs is the right place to go if you had problems with drugs or alcohol during your first months of driving: our special development seminar for beginner drivers is called NAFA-Plus and is recognised by the relevant authorities.
During NAFA-Plus, with the support of an experienced guide, you will learn to recognise the causes of your inappropriate behaviour; the aim is to develop strategies in order to avoid further traffic offences. After a first ndividual meeting, you will attend three group sessions of three hours each. In these sessions, you will learn about the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving ability and you will develop rules for appropriate driving behaviour and strategies to avoid critical situations.
As early as two to three weeks after the start of the course, if you have attended all the sessions, you will receive your certificate of attendance. Our special NAFA-Plus development seminar does not require you to undergo a final examination.
